"Kreuzberger girlies" - Streetsyle Three

What a yummy mummy! This is sort of the new tesettür, similar to Misri fashion - body suits with a shorter sleeve shirt on top however the eşarp is still there. I've done four looks inspired by this (you can tell I really like it huh?). I've started with a look directly inspired by the photo on the left that some may not be happy with, as the shirt hits directly at the hips with no coverage for the booty or croch. The next is more modest, keeping the shirt and the jeans if you wish, a strappy knee length red dress and a lovely white crochet bolero over top. There's then a light trench coat options with 3/4 sleeves so keeping the white tee underneth. The final look is for those that wear abaya - I suggest you wear this caftan over a white abaya or the white tee with a white maxi skirt. I've chosen different options for footwear all casual or semi-casual, please sisters - wear nice shoes with hijab, no Crocs please. You don't have to go out and buy every color but at least have black, brown and blue. All these looks would be fine with black or navy semi casual shoes but I prefer to not wear sneakers with skirts. I haven't done any further accessories, mix it up yourselves!

Brown work outfit

I love this refined look for work or a formal event, again it makes the scarf the key feature while being very sleek and stylish. It is up to you whether you would prefer to wear a coat rather than the jacket but I personally feel this conceals your form well. I've found a great cordorouy set from Taiba Outfitters which has a great price for a work outfit that is hijab appropriate. I've included the ususal options of scarves along with a raw silk shayla which better matches the color of the scarf in the photo.

Rayyan's Twentieth Outfit - Hijab

Here Rayyan Hamoudi is wearing a pale red chiffon shayla with mauve paisley and a silver stickpin. This isn't my favourite scarf from a fashion perspective, I don't think the mauve and red really goes and especially not with a navy shirt underneath.

I really love this shayla, the purple and red actually go, not like Rayyan's scarf. It looks alot like a pashmina but its actually polyester so its very light.

Scarf World's Sheer Silk Scarf (Red & Mauve Pasisley Stripes) for £14.99
Mauve and red with a metallic shimmer work well in this scarf as its more graduated than Rayyan's mauve paisley on red. This silk would feel lovely on your skin.

Scarf World's Ruffle Chiffon Neck Scarf (Berry) for £14.99
This neck scarf isn't wide enough to be a hijab at 11 inches but the colorway of apricot, dark purple and red are so nice so its worth matching it with an al-amira.

Star Scarves Crimson Red/Burgundy Al-Amira Hijab (2pcs) for USD $9.99
This is a nice understated red al-amira if you prefer to not go for brights but like the color.

Its not a stickpin but its quite cute, you could use the white or maybe even the pink hijab pin with the second scarf.

I love this hijab, its a multi colored and patterned large shayla of brown, yellow and pink with pi designs, swirls and stripes.

Rayyan's Seventeenth Outfit - Hijab

Rayyan certainly likes cut velvet floral scarves, this one is blackish navy with blue flowers and green leaves.

A little bird told me, aka alixianna that my hijab posts are great so I've gone nuts!

This is a skinny scarf so you need a navy al-amira underneath Scarf World's Skinny Velvet Scarf (Blue Roses) for £15.99 It's the closest scarf to Rayyan's as its cut velvet in the same colors.

Still pretty skinny so stick with that al-amira Scarf World's Sheer Neck Scarf (Blue & Black Floral) for £2.95 This is similar in the patterns and colors but isn't velvet.

Scarf World's Long Sheer Shawl (Black & Blue Poppies) for £9.99 This scarf doesn't have any green but the turquoise actually matches her shirt better

Scarf World's Sheer Silk Shawl (Blue Flowers) for £9.99 Can you say pop! I really love this scarf, its quite different because it doesn't have any black but if you are going for the blue look try this great scarf.

Rayyan's Sixteenth Outfit

OMG Rayyan without a hijab! An interesting thing about Zarqa Nawaz being stuck with having to choose primarily non-Muslim characters to play Mercy's Muslims, as there were no appropriate Muslim actors available, is that they have no objection to being filmed without hijab as Muslima muhajabat would have. For example, Rayyan's mother Sarah never wears hijab outside the masjid (and then only a sheer scarf), Rayyan is shown mostly with hijab but without at home and Fatima is shown always wearing hijab except when they she first goes to a 'Women's Aqua Fit Class'.

The look that Rayyan is sporting here is hijab ready, like she has come home from work and taken off her scarf:

This scarf is a similar very pale pastel blue to Rayyan's shirt, its a shayla (shawl) style rectangular scarf quite broad and long, with vertical stripes. Hijabs are so fun and blue is one of my favorite colors so here's heaps:

Rayyan's First Outfit - Scarf Pin

The headscarf pin used here is two silver balls suspended from one silver pin. (It may be two pins, but the way the balls move suggests they are attached.) The pins sparkle when Rayyan moves but I'm not sure if they are very shiny ball or have crystal embellishment. I have never seen this style before, let's see if we can find something to copy it with. If you would like an identical pin you could make it yourself at your local bead store or commission someone else. The alternative is to tie your hijab in such a way that it does not require a stick pin to stay in place or use your own outfit appropriate pin.
