Salam alaikum wa rahmatullah sis,Thank you very much for such a useful website!!May Allah bless you always :)Warm regards from Jakarta
wait, isnt there a site called Al Muhajabat? Could'nt she think of a million other names?
I'm sure their a heaps of other names she could have chosen but I personally feel that the name is beautiful. It means the elegant/pretty wearer of hijab. I think that's lovely.
salams Thanks for your explaination, that was helpful, I love the name too, very cool! But I thought al Muhajabat meant the women who wear hijab. Al (the) Mu (definate article: the verb) Hajab (hijab...) bat (plural form)
Yes you are right, I forgot about the plural. So it means the pretty/elegant women who wear hijab.
Salams! Thanks for your reply. But elegant/pretty? Where are those words implied in the textual grammer of the word "Al Muhajabat" or "Muhajabat" "Muhajabah"? Sorry, I am taking many Arabic grammer classes from SunniPath.com so I thought since you are on a blog to the entire free world, that it should be known that it does not mean elegant or pretty, rather only "The women who wear "hijab"...but that is only me, please forgive me dear sister :-) Love your blog...you may enjoy SunniSister's blog too! What a cool name though...Al Muhajabat!
Yes you are correct of course, al-Muhajabat does not refer to anything other than the women who cover. However the name of the store is Al Muhajaba El Aniqa. Al-aniqa الاّنيقه means 'the elegant' so the whole name means 'The elegant women who wear hijab'.
Salam, OH! Now I get it :-) thanks for putting up with me :-) Looking forward to your new posts!
