Horsey hijab

Equestrian hijab
Equestrian hijab - by celeritas on Polyvore.com

I love J Peterman, the clothes are beautiful, described with evocative stories and often hijab friendly. This is a lovely eqeustrian themed skirt suitlook great with subtle accessories. You could wear the jacket in a larger size to ensure modesty or drap a shawl over the top. The skirt looks beautifully loose and modest.

"Kreuzberger girlies" - Streetsyle Five

Here's the final kreuzberger girlies 1 look, this time a magenta and purple eşarp with a purple dress over white wide trousers. Again there isn't an exact scarf to the one pictured so I have done three options with three differnt purple scarves. The first look is a dress over a white trouser, shorter shirt over white tee and white skirt and a more modest bolero over a maxi dress. I've picked up colours form the eşarp in the footwear and handbags. I personally love the maxi dress look, so pretty and classy.

Glam Gold and Black

This Armine look is so high fashion, wow! It would be great for a formal event like a ball, sister's part or Eid. You could wear a maxi dress under the coat instead of a skirt so that you could transform it into a sister's-only or family event outfit quickly.

Autumnal stroll in the forest

My dear readers please humour me to post the outfit I am wearing today which is very similar to my Brown work outfit. I'm just so very pleased to have put together the look that I'm wearing for NZD$40 for the scarf, jacket, skirt and shirt. Well actually I'm not wearing the eşarp but I did buy one like this but in a cheetah pattern, faux silk and shiny shayla. I haven't yet worn full-hijab at work, I'm wearing my loose weave shayla which needs an underscarf draped around my head. I've still got my fringe sticking out, its a sort of "Yes, its still me and I still have hair" statement. I'm waiting for the big staff meeting tomorrow to gauge reaction to my half-hijab before I go for full-hijab.

A note on my Polyvore - my jacket isn't that tight and I still really like wearing jackets over skirts. When I wear coats people ask me if I'm cold and then I get hot so I look very silly. I'm wearing a loose shirt underneath but its only hits at hip height. I've put the peacock feather earrings on the skirt because that's the pattern on the skirt and not surprisingly I couldn't find an identical one on the internet.

Funky Summer

I really like this look, very high fashion. I've chosen a similar coat and paired it with a flowy pink skirt to match the eşarp. Of course if you want to wear hijab properly you'll need to tuck your hair in but as I have said before many tesettür advertising images don't fulfil true hijab.

I've put a lot of accessories into this look so its so girly. Do you girls like to wearing floral accessories when you wear floral hijabs or not?

Swirl, stripe tulips

This Polyvore shows a skirt I just bought with a black coat and boots. This to me is the quintessential tesettür look, a loose long skirt and coat in neutral colors with a daring scarf. The eşarp (silk scarf) is Aker code 4308701 and comes in a heap of range of colours so I have included all the ones that match this outfit and the display picture in the top right. I personally like the black one best but whats great about tesettür is that your clothes can be the same but your scarves can be really different.

Rayyan's Twenteeith Outfit

Here's Rayyan Hamoudi in her usual at home, no hijab attire. Note the hijab-hair!

I think this outfit is pretty dreadful, red-purple hijab with a navy shirt and brown doesn't make sense. Al-Farah used to make long navy shirt but they are now out of stock so you can try this shorter navy shirt from Liz Claiborne. She wore the long brown coat in Episode 15 but I beat most muhajabat have a brown and black coat and there are other options like khaki or olive, white or denim too! Try Shukr's outerwear section or Modern muslimah's tesettur options.

Here are some great shirts from Shukr that do go with a reddish, plummish, purplesh hijab:

Shukr's Sundial Wrap Top in Cherry for US $48.95 is now only available is size 2XL but there are other colors available in the other sizes and wrap shirts are very Rayyanni, see outfits nine and 11.

Shukr's Jersey Dress Top in Cherry for USD $44.95 is really pretty and well matched with the Lace Contrast Skirt in Buterrcream/ Red Plum for USD $48.95 shown here. We don't get to see what is worn with Rayyan's unmatching navy shirt and I think this gorgeous a-line shape off-white with plum goes wonderfully with any of the hijab options I selected.

If you like a pale purple to go with the red & mauve hijab try this:

Shukr's Piped Lace Blouse for USD $54.95, the slight contrast detailing around the middle and on the sleeves makes a reference to the belt trend, without revealing your shape.

Or for a darker purple that is still pale:

Shukr's Samarkand Tunic is Grape Shake for USD $59.95 features a cute tie accross the middle without cinching in, perfect if you like the belt trend but don't want to show your curves. The embroidery at the wrist and up the arm is sort of a one-toned take on the detailing on khaliji abayas.

Here's some other great purple/plum skirt options:

Wow this bold is a bold eye-popping skirt but if you love purple I really recommend you try Shukr's Jersey Tie Front Skirt in Grape for USD $54.95

This skirt is really flowy and long, perfect for those that love the 2 piece equivalent to an abaya look Shurkr's 24-Gore Godet Skirt in Hibiscus for $54.95

Rayyan's Nineteenth Outfit

Here Ryanna is wearing a pale denim pocket shirt with a navy long sleeve tee underneath.

Here's a slightly darker shirt:

Hadi Store's Denim Button Shirt for USD$15

Grab a long sleeve body top from Canadian Muslim for USD $14.82 to go underneath, they are great as they are 23" long.

We don't get to see Rayyan's skirt in this but I thought this navy skirt would be nice:

Rayyan's Sixteenth Outfit

OMG Rayyan without a hijab! An interesting thing about Zarqa Nawaz being stuck with having to choose primarily non-Muslim characters to play Mercy's Muslims, as there were no appropriate Muslim actors available, is that they have no objection to being filmed without hijab as Muslima muhajabat would have. For example, Rayyan's mother Sarah never wears hijab outside the masjid (and then only a sheer scarf), Rayyan is shown mostly with hijab but without at home and Fatima is shown always wearing hijab except when they she first goes to a 'Women's Aqua Fit Class'.

The look that Rayyan is sporting here is hijab ready, like she has come home from work and taken off her scarf:

Al-Farah's Cotton Spandex Blouse in Forest Green for USD $24.99

Shukr's Braided Belt Denim Skirt for £28.95 or from Shukr USA for USD $48.95

Rayyan is a shayla girl but seeing I have free range at selecting a scarf option, I would pair this outfit with a dramatic tesettur scarf like this:

Hijab Planet's Peri Silk Hijab for USD $55.95

or a cheaper and simpler shayla:

Hijab Boutique's Teal Shayla for £4.79

Rayyan's First Outfit - Skirt

Rayyan's skirt in this episode is a deep burgundy color, ankle length, straight cut and appears to have a slight ruffle. The skirt looks to be made of an lined, sheer fabric with a crinkled texture. Here are a few options:

Shukr's Souk Skirt US $49.95 in Hibiscus

Shukr's A-Line Flare Skirt US $49.95 in Hibiscus if you prefer an unruffled skirt

a textured Indian option
al-Mujalba Sequence Tiered Skirt US $20.00 in Burgundy

a romantic silk skirt
Artizara Silk Dupioni Iridescent Skirt US $37.49 in Burgundy

Shukr has other skirt styles in burgundy which they refer to as Hibiscus, have a look Shukr Hibiscus Clothing
